Take an easy hike on a rainy day with the kids, or for the more adventurous, hike up up up to a glacier meadow and see Glacier Lilies and possibly a grizzly bear. Hike up to a mountain lake for more great fishing. Relax on the beach on a hot summer day. Whether swimming, canoeing, sailing, fishing, hiking, water skiing, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing. It's all right there or nearby. The Wetlands at Creston are a must see. Kootenay Lake is well known for great winter fishing.
Racoon Ridge is an IMMACULATE & cozy cottage. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the front deck overlooking the lake, or on the east facing private patio out back. An outdoor pizza oven and fireplace are a great place for gathering for the evening meal. A queen size Murphy bed folds out for night and neatly disappears again for the day. Downstairs tuck the kids away in bunks or on a double fold out sofa bed. Enjoy the ambiance of a fireplace on the upper level or watch a movie on the lower level.
Racoon Ridge has a lovely view of the lake. You are surrounded by gardeners extraordinaire. Boat launch is only about 2 km. away. You can pull your boat up on the beach to store for the week, but not to load and unload from a trailer. A canoe and paddleboat are there for your use. Enjoy 220' of private beach front.
HIKE, SWIM, FISH, SAIL, CANOE, SKI. Downhill skiing and cross-country skiing about 1.5 hrs. away. The ride there includes .5 hr. ferry ride on the lovely Osprey. Winter fishing is great at Kootenay Lake.
