Description
Experience the beautiful and remote northwest coast of Vancouver Island at Rugged Point Lodge.
Nestled between towering Douglas Firs and Western Red Cedar touching the Pacific Ocean, our intimate fifteen-guest fishing lodge is fully equipped with the amenities you need and the wilderness you crave.

Stay connected with high-speed wifi and a landline or get off the grid and relax in the natural beauty of Kyuquot Sound at Rugged Point Lodge.

Kyuquot was originally inhabited by the Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’/Che:k:tles7et’h’ (pronounced Kie-YOU-cut and TSHEH-kleh-szet) First Nations people who still live on their traditional territory along the Pacific West Coast of Vancouver Island.

Finnish commercial fisherman settled the area in the 1930s, turning Kyuquot into a thriving port and logging town.

Today, the small community is a sport fishing destination. Kyuquot has a general store and post office, and supplies are delivered weekly from Gold River on the MV Uchuck 111 (pictured above).

Fishing Lodge BC
Our BC fishing lodge features six private guest rooms with private washrooms and showers, a large main room, dining room, bar area, seating area with wood stove and spacious decks overlooking the pacific ocean.

Salmon Fishing
Rugged Point Lodge can get you to the best salmon fishing on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

We fish for Chinook at Spring Island, only two miles from our dock. Kyuquot Ridge is also nearby, featuring reefs, rockpiles and gravel bars where salmon swim year-round. We can also get you to the “Salmon Highway” – 50 Fathom Edge – where migrating Chinook first head inland on their way to their home rivers.

Our guides use a variety of techniques in different seasons to help you hook into British Columbia’s most prized catch.
